The Benefits of Recovery Support Groups

Honeycomb Wellness Center is an outpatient substance abuse treatment center located in Novato, CA, that provides personalized treatment programs to help patients recover from addiction. One important aspect of our treatment approach is the use of recovery support groups. Recovery support groups can provide important benefits for patients in substance abuse treatment.

Recovery support groups are groups of people who come together to support each other in their recovery from addiction. These groups can provide a sense of community, accountability, and support. They can also help patients learn from others who have similar experiences and provide an opportunity to give and receive encouragement.

At Honeycomb Wellness Center, we encourage our patients to participate in recovery support groups as part of their treatment. We believe that recovery support groups can be an important component of a comprehensive treatment program.

There are many different types of recovery support groups, including 12-step programs, non-12-step programs, and online support groups. 12-step programs, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), are some of the most well-known recovery support groups. These groups are based on the 12-step program, which emphasizes surrendering to a higher power and taking personal responsibility for one’s actions.

Non-12-step programs, such as SMART Recovery and Refuge Recovery, are also available. These programs are based on different principles than the 12-step program and may appeal to patients who are looking for a different approach.

At Honeycomb Wellness Center, we provide our patients with information about different types of recovery support groups and encourage them to explore which groups may be the best fit for their needs.

In addition to recovery support groups, we offer three levels of care: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Outpatient Program (OP). Each level of care is tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Our PHP is designed for patients who require more intensive care than the outpatient program. Patients receive treatment five days a week, for six hours a day. This level of care allows patients to receive intensive therapy while still being able to return home at the end of each day. Our IOP is designed for patients who need a more structured treatment program but do not require the level of care provided in the PHP. Patients receive treatment three days a week, for three hours a day. This level of care allows patients to continue with their daily activities while receiving treatment. Our OP is designed for patients who have completed the PHP or IOP and are ready to transition back to their normal lives.
