Outpatient Care for Women’s Prescription Drug Recovery

Structured outpatient programs combine clinical care with real-world skill-building to support lasting recovery. Located in Novato, California, our center connects adult women to this structured framework, delivered by licensed clinicians and certified therapists who provide individualized care in small, supportive groups. Programs span three to six months based on clinical milestones and include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient (OP) levels of care.

Women frequently develop prescription drug dependence while attempting to manage unaddressed trauma, chronic pain, or overwhelming anxiety alongside demanding family, childcare, and career responsibilities. Our specialized care addresses these root drivers, replacing reliance on opioids, sedatives, or stimulants with grounded emotional regulation. Integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and dual-diagnosis approaches, every session equips women with concrete coping tools to build lasting recovery at home.

Gender-Specific Treatment

We designed a quiet, distraction-free environment where women can speak openly about trauma, family roles, and physical health without judgment. Women in shared recovery groups build mutual accountability and support one another’s emotional healing. Our specialized programming aligns directly with women’s unique biology, stress responses, and interpersonal relationships.

Our Outpatient Services for Women’s Drug Rehab

The programs offer three levels of outpatient care for women’s drug rehab, allowing clients to step down gradually as they progress in recovery. Each level provides structured, evidence-based treatment tailored to a client’s clinical needs and daily responsibilities.

PHP

Our PHP serves as a structured step-down following medical detox or residential treatment at an outside facility. Clients attend comprehensive clinical programming five days a week for six hours a day and return home each evening. This phase focuses on acute stabilization, daily symptom management, and nervous system regulation.

IOP

Targeted support in IOP serves clients needing a structured treatment schedule without requiring full-day PHP supervision. Clients receive specialized therapy three days a week for three hours a day, providing a bridge between high-acuity care and independence. This schedule allows clients to practice real-world coping mechanisms while maintaining ongoing clinical oversight and relapse prevention.

OP

Long-term independence develops in OP, which is designed for clients who have completed PHP or IOP and are ready to transition back into daily life, careers, and family routines. Clients participate in structured therapeutic care once a week for three hours, providing a consistent anchor for accountability. Weekly sessions reinforce relapse prevention strategies, monitor co-occurring mental health conditions, and support sustainable recovery.

Benefits of Our Addiction Treatment for Women

Trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapies guide every aspect of our clinical programming. Therapies target both substance use disorders and the mental health conditions that often accompany them. Our integrated model treats the whole person, not just the addiction.

Integrated Care for Co-Occurring Disorders

Substance dependence frequently masks underlying struggles like depression, chronic anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Clients receive simultaneous treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions within a single plan. Addressing both disorders concurrently calms internal distress and prevents one untreated issue from undermining recovery progress.

Individual Therapy

Private one-on-one sessions give clients room to unpack root triggers, explore personal histories, and set concrete goals. Clinicians guide women through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to identify unhelpful thought patterns and build practical coping strategies.

Group Therapy

Shared sessions connect clients with women who understand the challenges of prescription drug dependence, reducing isolation. Facilitated by licensed therapists, these sessions incorporate 12-Step principles and support groups to build clear communication, practical boundaries, and genuine peer bonds.

Family Therapy

Our team facilitates guided family therapy to help repair relationships and rebuild stability at home. Licensed clinicians guide family sessions to resolve communication gaps, educate loved ones on addiction, and establish healthy boundaries that support long-term recovery for the entire family.

Holistic Therapies

We integrate holistic modalities to support physical and emotional restoration alongside traditional talk therapy. Our programs incorporate mindfulness training, nervous system regulation techniques, and nutritional guidance to help clients rebuild physical vitality, improve sleep patterns, and manage daily stress naturally.

Experiential Therapies

Our clinical schedule incorporates experiential modalities, including therapeutic yoga, gentle movement, and breathwork, to help women process stored trauma non-verbally. By engaging the body, these sessions help clients release physical tension, cultivate somatic awareness, and ground emotional health in physical practices.

Substance Use Disorders We Treat

Our specialized outpatient dual diagnosis treatment addresses specific chemical dependencies, helping the brain recover balance and restore clear cognitive function.

Opioid Addiction

Dependence on prescription painkillers—such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, and morphine—requires specialized medical and therapeutic care. Our protocols focus on easing lingering physical discomfort, managing cravings, and rebuilding healthy pain-management strategies.

Alcohol Addiction

Dependence on alcohol creates physiological and emotional strain and often develops as a coping response to stress or trauma. Clients whose withdrawal risk requires 24-hour medical monitoring are referred to detox before starting outpatient care. Once stabilized, treatment combines relapse prevention planning and behavioral therapy to support sustainable recovery.

Co-Occurring Disorders

Clients receive simultaneous care for addiction alongside depression or anxiety disorders, ensuring comprehensive clinical coverage. Aligning mental health care with addiction recovery protects long-term emotional balance and physical health.

Signs You Would Benefit from Our Women’s Rehab Program

Use of prescription drugs that begins to interfere with daily functioning is a clear sign that substance use disorder treatment may help. Many women seek care when they notice subtle shifts turning into physical dependence—such as needing higher doses to get through the day, experiencing uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms when missing a dose, or feeling like medication is controlling their schedule rather than supporting it.

Enrolling in our women’s addiction treatment program provides immediate structure, expert clinical oversight, and a clear path forward. If you have recently completed inpatient treatment or medical detox at another facility, stepping directly into our outpatient care maintains your recovery momentum and prevents gaps in support. Clients gain access to a clinical team focused on rebuilding health, confidence, and daily stability.

FAQs

How is outpatient treatment different from residential treatment?

Outpatient care allows clients to live at home while attending scheduled therapy sessions. Residential treatment provides 24-hour supervision in a live-in facility. By choosing an outpatient setting, women gain the flexibility to manage daily responsibilities without sacrificing comprehensive clinical care.

We do not prescribe or initiate medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Our team supports medication adherence, monitors psychiatric medications, and coordinates with outside medical providers to help clients maintain medication stability throughout their stay with us.

Clients receive aftercare planning that includes alumni engagement, peer support, and connections to community recovery groups. While we do not operate sober living homes, our team can refer clients to outside sober living providers as part of transitional care planning.

Yes, relapse prevention is a core component of our women’s rehab programs. Preventing relapse focuses on helping clients identify triggers and build practical coping strategies. These skills are reinforced across PHP, IOP, and OP.

Medical detoxification may be necessary when withdrawal symptoms could create significant medical or safety concerns. Our outpatient programs are not a substitute for medical detox when withdrawal requires 24-hour medical monitoring. We can help clients who need detox find an appropriate provider before continuing with outpatient care.
